The Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has released a new notification regarding correction in the registered particulars of candidates for various classes in the Jammu Division – Summer Zone.

This circular, issued under Notification No. F(Regn-B)/Corr/JD/25, dated 26 November 2025, provides detailed guidelines for corrections in the registration records of Class 9th, as well as eligibility forms for Classes 10th, 11th, and 12th for the upcoming Annual Regular 2026 (Summer Zone) examinations.

The notification is issued in continuation of an earlier notification dated 18-10-2025, and applies to all Government and Private High/Higher Secondary Schools affiliated with JKBOSE in Jammu Division (Summer Zone).

The board has clearly specified:

  • Who is eligible for corrections
  • Correction fee amount
  • Correction window dates
  • What institutions must do

This update is extremely important for schools and students to ensure all candidate records are error-free before the Annual Regular examinations.

JKBOSE Correction Schedule 2025 – Important Dates

ParticularCorrection Window
Class 9th (Session 2024–25)27 November 2025 to 11 December 2025
Eligible Candidates (Class 10th, 11th, 12th – Academic Session 2026)27 November 2025 to 11 December 2025

Both categories will follow the same correction window, making it convenient for schools to complete the process within the timeframe.

Who Can Apply for Corrections?

The notification applies to two distinct categories:

1. Class 9th Students (Session 2024–25)

Institutions are permitted to apply for corrections in the registered particulars of Class 9th students who will appear in the Class 10th Annual Regular 2026 (Summer Zone) examination.

These corrections are essential because incorrect entries at the Class 9th level directly impact the Class 10th Registration Return, Admit Cards, and Certificates.

2. Eligibility Candidates (Classes 10th, 11th & 12th)

Schools may apply for corrections in the online Eligibility Forms of students of Classes 10th, 11th, and 12th who will appear in the Annual Regular 2026 (Summer Zone) session.

Eligibility forms typically include:

  • Name
  • Parentage
  • Date of Birth
  • Stream / Class information
  • Migration / previous school records
  • Other personal particulars

Any error discovered must be corrected during this notified period.

JKBOSE Correction Fee 2025

The board has fixed separate correction fees for each category:

CategoryCorrection FeeDates Applicable
Class 9th Candidates₹2000 per candidate27-11-2025 to 11-12-2025
Eligibility Candidates (10th, 11th, 12th)₹1000 per candidate27-11-2025 to 11-12-2025

The circular clearly states the amounts in words as well:

  • “Two thousand only” for Class 9
  • “One thousand only” for Eligibility Candidates

Schools must collect this fee from concerned students before initiating the correction process.

What Schools Must Do (Institutional Responsibilities)

JKBOSE has issued strict instructions to all Heads of Institutions and Sub/Branch Offices regarding processing corrections:

1. Collect All Eligible Cases

Schools must identify all students whose registered particulars require correction. These may include errors in:

  • Spelling of name
  • Spelling of parentage
  • Date of birth discrepancies
  • Gender
  • Subject combination
  • Eligibility details
  • Migration information
  • Previous school details.

2. Verify & Authenticate Documents

Corrections must be supported with valid documents such as:

  • Birth certificate
  • School leaving certificate
  • Aadhaar or ID records
  • Previous registration returns
  • Affidavits (if required)

Schools are responsible for verifying the documents before submission.

3. Forward Cases via Sub/Branch Board Offices

The Assistant Secretaries / In-charge Officers will:

  • Consolidate forms
  • Verify documents
  • Forward them to the Registration Returns Section, JD, strictly in hard copy
  • Ensure submission strictly as per Annexure-A

This ensures proper documentation and smooth handling of cases.

What Cannot Be Corrected?

The notification does not mention restrictions directly, but based on JKBOSE rules, institutions generally cannot correct:

  • Already verified Board certificate details
  • Upgraded classes without supporting documents
  • Changing date of birth for students older than Class 10 (as per established DOB policy)

Any unsupported or fraudulent changes will be rejected.

Why This Correction Window Is Important

Every year, thousands of students face delays or issues in:

  • Board registration
  • Admit card issuance
  • Mark sheets and certificates

Mostly because of incorrect entries in Class 9 registration or eligibility forms.

The correction window ensures that all student records are:

  • Accurate
  • Verified
  • Legally supported
  • Ready for the Annual Regular 2026 examination session

This leads to timely result processing and avoids future complications.
